The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. Hunter S. Thompson
The Coyotes formed while I was in El Paso, TX, in 1978 when I was stationed there in the Army at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. My friend Noel Wilson came out from upstate New York to attend UTEP and put a band together with me. Being in the middle of The Great Chihuahua Desert it seemed appropriate to name the band "Coyotes". We found another guitarist and singer/songwriter named Matthew Murdoch and formed an acoustic trio that played both covers and original music and gigged all over the El Paso and East New Mexico areas. We also did some recording while there at a magical place called Martin Recording run by Scott Martin (AKA Scotch Martini) and his girlfriend Dani Barefoot and sidekick David Rutledge (AKA Delwood). It was 1978 and it was magic. It's where I learned to produce my own music and run a recording session.
Here's a few songs that were recorded there during the years 1978 - 1981.
